Beauty Bay are one of the largest online makeup brands, and stock an array of products ranging from their own lines through to Jeffery Star and L.A Girl. Their social and email channels do not emulate how Modern and sleek their website is. 
With a vast amount of new products being placed onto the site, I wanted to create a set of stories and an email to promote them in the best light.
The initial idea was to create assets which were as bold as possible. Mix together complimentary colours and make sure everything popped to catch the consumers attention, whilst also making sure the collection looked like a cohesive set. 
For each design I started with the products colour, then started experimenting with using different shapes. This helped me figure out the layout for the collection, and what worked in terms of split screen, and whether each product needed to be full screen or not. I formed a set of templates and matched each product with where I thought it would lay best.
As movement is highly successful on socials, I made each story asset into a video, which can then also be used for paid ads.
The email was quite different in terms of creative process. With the fake tanning assets having a lot of products within the image, I chose more muted colours to not take attention away from the product. I experimented with a few templates which I had created, but the main aim was to use as many images as possible without it looking over crowded. 
Collages when selling a product always seem to perform well as it shows variation and what a brand has to offer. Therefore I used these heavily in the email as this was the perfect way to show as many images as possible.
