Sleep
Exploring the uncharted, this project delves into the three sleep stages, revealing the intimate and rarely explored psychological depths within our sleep patterns through creative means.

A project formed from the prompt sleep during A-Level, which turned into an unveiling of the intricacies of sleep through videography and photography. The video made has an allure around the art of capturing such a personal moment, and makes the viewer question whether it is real life, or a dream they're watching.
The original aim was to create a video, which used a multitude of different techniques to capture the erratic nature of a disturbed sleep pattern. During the latter course of filming, I stopped to take photographs as well as record footage and these turned out to be some of my favourite assets from the collection.
The 2 images below coexist harmoniously together. One is an evocative portrayal of nightmares during the REM phase of sleep, whilst the other adorned with billowing clouds, is a poignant representation of the ethereal tranquility that accompanies the gentle descent into the realm of sleep or a nap.
